Mine was smaller so now I feel worse. It was dark and I had just spooked a big doe. I saw the silhouette of the deer in the darkness. Drew up on it and laid it down in its tracks, when it fell I knew I made a bad error in judgement. Going back this evening to hopefully redeem myself.

Just got back in the stand. Checked the game cam and saw the buck that escaped me this morning. Not a wall hanger but would have been proud of him. Sure hope he shows up again. Brought the 45-70 this time. No malfuncions

Box stand
Hunting a new stand that hasn't been hunted in years and found out why. The platform base of the connects the ladder to the box broke and I had to jump into stand. I'm now sitting in box trying to figure out my exit in case it falls to the ground. It's hanging by a rusted screw and I don't know if I can get out. Glad I brought peanut butter crackers and water in case I'm here a while. Although if I shoot a nice buck I'll jump out to the ground considering all my adrenaline.
