Coot decoys

Anybody on here use them. A lot of people swear by them. They are frickin 45/ 6 decoys so I painted a dozen of my teal decoys today. I hope they work as well as some people say.

Someone told me you can just paint 2 liter bottles all black and they work.
Never tried it, I wasn't sure if they were just messing with me.

We bought some at BassPro a few weeks ago and threw the box in the truck bed with the gadwalls. Next thing you know, we're drivning down the interstate and the coots fly out and go all over the place. We said frick it and kept driving. CSB

Yea I heard about the bottles too. I'm a little skeptical about trying that. I have like 40 teal so i am ok with just transforming some of them.

I think saturday I am going to hunt biloxi wma out of hopedale. For whatever reason my property doesn't have any grass this year so I am just not holding a lot of ducks. We found the mother load in hopedale so I am going to try it and see.

I have hunted with both coot decoys and the 2 liter bottles. I my experience the bottles worked better. I think it is because the move a little more in the wind.

Don't be! We've done this for years. I've had green heads land right in the middle of coke bottles not even close to a real decoy.
