I LOVE the jerk string. I dont think last season would have been half as successful if I had not used it. Very small pocket in the woods, on a little pond. As soon as I see the swing, I lightly hit it to feel them out. If they drop at all, I leave it alone..If they swing multiple times and a few start to break, I hit it hard, sometimes violently.

I rarely call, and rely on the jerk string to catch their attention. I like it because it can be used lightly for a little push, or it can act like a key hole cut down call and you can work it hard as hell and pull them out of the stratosphere.

Are yall hunting from a raised blind or pit blind? Ours is raised just above the water line between a few cypress in the middle of a 10 acre pond. We're near Ville Platte, so not a huge flyway. How do you hide the string when you pull it, or does it not make a big difference?

Where I have it right now, we just hunt from the bank (little woody hole). I tie the string to the bottom of a stump that I sit next to, keeping it low to the water.

I havent used one out of my pit, but I use it out of a raised blind, string coming up and going over the top. Probably could be run a little cleaner, but I havent had any problems.
