It's a damn shame. I spoke with some divers at ABC and one of them said he didn't have a BC on, just weight.

Buoyancy compensator, you inflate/deflate it with air to keep you at certain level.

I'm familiar with bounce diving, just never heard of doing it without a BC. I'd hate to add more risk factors to something kinda challenging already. OTOH, at least wouldn't have to worry about uncontrolled ascents and possible embolism.

I mean, I know guys that dive with the bare minimum. Some don't use an actual BC but I'd say about 98% do.


I just overweight usually. I dove with 10# this weekend and no wetsuit

I was told he had 22# on, not sure if true, but this all came from same guy from the BR club.
