Whats a BC? Sorry for my ignorance on the subject

Buoyancy compensator, you inflate/deflate it with air to keep you at certain level.

That would be odd unless he was free diving in between tank dives.

Guy said he wanted to shoot straight down. Hat might be able to shed some light on this method, sounds like a HD thing to do.

Horrible. Especially the unknown aspect of it.

I'm familiar with bounce diving, just never heard of doing it without a BC. I'd hate to add more risk factors to something kinda challenging already. OTOH, at least wouldn't have to worry about uncontrolled ascents and possible embolism.

I mean, I know guys that dive with the bare minimum. Some don't use an actual BC but I'd say about 98% do.
I just overweight usually. I dove with 10# this weekend and no wetsuit

I was told he had 22# on, not sure if true, but this all came from same guy from the BR club.

And no BC with the currents being reported? If true, he needed a noman with him at all times. RIP
