Property is in SE Louisiana. I met with a guy from the La Ag and Forestry Dept on the property back during the summer. He was happy I contacted him. Said he has to do 8 plans a year and sometimes has to knock on doors to find properties to do, so he was happy I called and was within 30 minutes from his office in Abita Springs. Unfortunately it appears he forgot about me. I just called him and he apologized and said he’d get out there again soon to re-walk the property and pull some samples. Not 100% sure what his report is going to tell me, but don’t think it can hurt.
Thank everyone for all the help/advice!!

Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries has a similar program to the Mississippi one I referenced earlier:
Private Land Management Assistance
