Made it through the night. No sleep at all for me. Y'all were right - things have changed instantly. I find myself thinking of how I'm gonna raise her right - hell even how I need to do a better job when I go back to work. No way anyone could have prepared me for this. It truly is amazing.
Its a good thing

I was a snotty nosed 21 year old when me and Mrs. Deacon had our son. Talk about instant wake up call!!! Nothing like having a human being totally dependent on you. It's a great responsibility and one of the best things to ever happen to us. It opens up a new kind of love that I didn't know existed. Enjoy!

Congrats!!
She will be the absolute apple of your eye. My only child (a daughter) turned 18 and started college this past fall.
She is living proof that despite every mistake I made, and despite everything I got wrong, I got at least one big thing right.
There is no love quite like the love that a dad has for his daughter. I'm actually tearing up a little while I write this, because I know exactly how your feeling right now. To some degree, the feelings you have right now will always be there. That's a good thing.

Congrats on the new member of your family! I've got a ways to go before I bring a new little one into the world but I can only imagine how magical it is.
Good luck to ya!

And don't buy into that "terrible two's" crap when that age rolls around. Hell, that's when they really get to be fun.
Man, I miss having a little one around.
