Don't have to spend a fortune on a shotgun.
Took a nice turkey with that cheap Mossberg o/u. The man behind the gun matters more.

I'm not stating Stoeger M3500 is a better gun than Outlander. I'm stating the Stoeger is a great value (cheaper than Outlander) and versatile (can shoot 2 3/4" -3 1/2" shells; Outlander can only shoot up to 3" per Cabelas) option for someone who only wants to buy one gun.

My parents did the same for me, it's the shotgun I use the most till this day.

Depends on the recipient. I like older stuff and if someone were to buy me some classic shotgun, I'd be all over it. My in laws have a tradition of buying their grandsons a long gun when they either turn 18 or graduate. I forget which. I just remember being there when my brother in law got his. It was an old break action single shot.

Can't thank you all enough for the suggestions... the Benelli Supernova APG looks like a frontrunner. This is going to be a hard choice.

I got this one a few weeks ago. I was going to buy the outlander, but 400 after tax and ffl for mossberg vs 800 for camo Beretta made it an easy choice. I researched both extensively and couldn't find many bad things about either so I went with the Mossberg at half the price.
