In California now, so I guess Mexican
They had some intensely long grades between Vegas and here. Props to the big rig drivers who can make it. Some of the guys were way underpowered and I guess grabbed the wrong gear, because they'd be chugging along at 5mph while other loaded down trucks were cruising 45mph.
Once I got out of Flagstaff, the ride sucked. Nothing but desert and spots that looked like a really strong guy stacked some pebbles up.
Was only 110 in Death Valley. They have a huge 40ft tall thermometer. It was hotter in Louisiana and Texas when I left.
I got to go up this mountain trail on that mountain I was at outside of Flagstaff. It was like an old Jeep trail or something, but I rode on it for about 5 miles and turned around because it was raining really hard. Wet rocks and mud were making me slide everywhere.
Grand Canyon was just as I expected...a huge hole in the ground. Pretty cool looking though. The chick working the booth was
On the way out, I decided to take what I thought was a decent, maintained forest road. Turned into a powerline trail about a half mile in. I didn't have room to turn around, so I just kept on going. Thanks to the two straight days of rain, it was muddy as frick. I had to concentrate pretty hard, and at one point, I looked at my speedo and it said 95...I was actually going about 10, but had my truck fricking tached out. I was out of cell range, in the middle of BFE, and all I was thinking about was Swampers
Vegas traffic sucked. I tried to go down the strip, but they have it set up to where you have to stop at every single one of the 4000 stoplights. I got aggravated, and after seeing all of the nature shite, it ended up being stupid.
Saw a bunch of dust devils, cactus, and yucca and actually had some sage brush hit the side of my truck with a huge gust of wind.
LA is exactly like everyone says. Smog everywhere. The whole city smells like a dump. Traffic was horrendous.
Bout to head to El Paso via San Diego tomorrow. Hopefully the traffic won't be as bad.
Eta: I forgot I had my piece in my truck...until I ran into a agricultural checkpoint on the interstate. Pulled off on some dirt road and had to throw it in the toolbox

These mother frickers over here are serious about that shite. It's a felony if you have a loaded gun in your car. Mag and gun have to be locked individually away from each other
