Ok, pal. You've just got me all figured out, huh?

Unfortunately, you are incorrect on both counts, but that doesn't surprise me at all.

If you equate the GOP with dems as to who supports huhting and gun rights more, you arent very jnformed. Iam sure the NRA (hunters and gunowners) believes GOP could do better but there is a reason they ENDORSE the GOP and not Democrats and do not remain neutral.

I'm not uninformed--you can't read. I said the GOP doesn't support federal public lands, and all you'd have to do is read what their platform has included in the past, or even what many of their western Senators and Representatives openly promote.

Then look at the records of western states like Utah and Colorado in regards to state-owned lands and ownership/hunting, and get back to me.

For the record, I vote for Republicans almost 100% of the time because their political stances generally align better with mine, but I don't trust any politician to stick to his word or represent all of my beliefs. Those idiots have generally been held in check on the sell-off of public lands, so I'll tolerate their shenanigans more than any Democrat trying to ban guns or limit access to them. Hell, neither of them are very successful on those fronts, but Dems have been successful getting hunting banned in places.

Your post pushed back on the need for hunters to register and vote. The rationale you have was the suggestion that both parties suck and daukted republicans for protecting property rights. Last i saw republicans dis not object to BLM lands being hunted but did recognize that grazing rights are contracts an necessary to western families. And i agree.

Great hunting exists in Indian Reservations. Maybe hiu shoukd check those out. Iam serious. Many good hunting opportunities for reasonable fees. But nooo way you shouldn't vote GOP this year as if the dems win they will grant amnesty to 15 million olus illegals whi they believe will vote democrat and werent raised on the 2nd amendment.

No it didn't.

Both parties do suck. And I said nothing about property rights. I said the Republican Party doesn't think there should be federal public lands.

No, they don't...they just object to BLM lands existing as BLM lands.

Again, I pretty much always vote Republican as the lesser of 2 evils. Unfortunately, there is no 3rd option that's viable at this point.

Great. No idea why you seemed the most negative replier to my post. Maybe you can hey Ted Nugent to run. Id vote for him. If this race was between Romney, Biden and Manchin , i might vote Manchin. I get the two party dislike.

Don't discount this based on anecdotal evidence..."every hunter I knows votes"...the truth is many do not. Its even worse with fisherman. If we did better as outdoorsman we would be in a better position. It is a big problem.

Not voting is dumb for anyone. Voting early is the key to not being ONE OF THESE JACKASSES..

Most firearms in this country are in private ownership and there's no paper trail.

We need to out pressure on friends and damily who arent registered or dont vote.

Easy to get an elderly relative an absentee ballot or ride to the polls.

Yeah, because the best way to get someone to be on your side is to put pressure on them...

They aren't voting for a reason. Putting pressure on them to vote--and to vote a particular way (because you dont want them to vote if they aren't voting your way, right?)--is just going to push most people even further from doing just that. If they don't have the motivation from within--or motivation from seeing the idiocracy we've had for the last 4 years--then they aren't going to see it by being pressured.

And let's be honest, in most states, it doesn't matter how you vote. 10 million voters spread across the country (if those numbers are true) isn't changing much unless the majority of those people are in "swing states". If 50-100k of those were in Louisiana, or 250k in Texas, it isn't changing anything if they all of a sudden start voting. Now, I think it's stupid for anyone to not exercise their right to vote, but I also understand why people choose not to under the Electoral College system.

Voting is local. Even in national elections there are measures on the ballot that are important and local. I agree that voting in a presidential election is kind of pointless unless you are in a true swing state but being involved locally is a civic responsibility like stopping at stop signs. Local politicians respond to local pressure. If they are being elected relatively easy without a lot of input except from a small handful of the people they represent that small handful of voters has a LOT of influence. I know diversity is seen as a crippling attribute but it matters in local politics...diversity of opinion makes a difference.

Cowboy if you dont vote then you really dont get to complain. Anyone can protest and talk big on the internet. Actually going out and doing something requires effort. The worst is to talk but not act. Like the dumasses at little league games who shout at the coaches and umpires but wont even volunteer to coach third base or bring drinks.

Amen. I will take it even one step further, and I am guilty of this. If a person REALLY is interested in facilitating change, run for office. Do it when you are young and do not have any baggage. School boards, commissioners...low level local elected positions are stepping stones to higher office. Those low level positions make a HUGE impact locally. I, like most people, thought I was too busy and important to run for office. I never was, the truth is, as it is in most cases, is I really did not care enough to weigh into the fray. The level of complacency which is common among good people who should be in office is devastating to the process in the US. It leads to people with their own agendas (usually enriching themselves and their associates) being in almost every elected job.

As I've said before, I do vote.

Do you always make a bunch of dumbass assumptions about people on the internet?

And to your point, I've been an ump in the past and I'm currently a youth baseball coach. But I've also never been one of those dumbass parents bitching about umps and coaches. Hell, I've been a coach since my son started playing.

Sounds like you walk the walk. I been there too but must be older it seems. You sound like you have alot of ideas, , beliefs and experience that would really help defeat this left wing socialist takeover. I hope you and your friends will engage fully in this war even if it the result isnt perfect. Battles are strategic and imperfect but important in the overall war. Sometimes the battle is less than what we want but every battle win makes the overall war more winable. Look at the GOP convention. McConnel was Booed even though he endorsed Trump. Romney isnt running. Dont abandone the cause now as its working.
