Daiwa BG. It's not the only option but it's a good one.
That is what I got for my guest rods on my boat, now all my spinning rods have Daiwa BG's on them unless I just have an old seldom used size hanging out.
Funny all the Shimano love, the last bait cast I bought was Shimano, more expensive than my coastal or tatula HD and I like these Daiwa's better.

Surprised no one has mentioned the Penn Battles, are they not what they use to be?

I just picked up six Battle III rod/reel combos in the 2500 size to keep at the camp for friends to use. The reels are fantastic and the rods are too so I claimed two as exclusively mine. I've always used Stradics but these Penns are very smooth and feel very strong. The upgrades to the Battle II really made the Battle III an awesome reel.
