In the market for a new dog tracking and training system...

Currently Gun Dog Supply has a sale on Garmin Alpha's and compatible collars.
I'm looking at the Garmin Alpha 200 with the TT25 collar. Regularly $1049, on sale for $849.
LINK
Any other brands or sales I should be looking at? I don't see myself using the 200i version that lets you message and share data with other compatible garmin devices. Additionally, I like the smaller housing on the tt25 compared to tt15's and lower.
I feel like I've done my research, I just don't want to miss out on something/ some brand I don't know about. I just need someone to tell me to pull the trigger.

I would get the 300 over the 200. I've heard from more than a few people who have owned both that the 300 is worth the extra cost. The 200 has some weird feature where when you tap a stim button, it brings up a box where you can quickly increase or decrease the level, but then you have to click out of it in order to do anything on the screen. The 300 makes this feature optional. I went from a 100 to 300 and love the 300.
ETA: I believe you have bird dogs? If so, I also own the 550 Plus handheld, and like it more than the Alpha for training and when the dogs aren't getting very far away from me. It only pairs up to 3 collars though.

Yes.

My hunting crew has something similar, but very old. They have this old Tri-Tronics stimulator and beeper, and a separate older garmin tracking system. Thus 2 handhelds for the 2 systems, and 2 collars per dog. One we put around their flank.
It's old, the batteries charge, but don't last long... Etc. (We usually top them off at lunch).
I will look into the 300 vs. the 200. I'm just trying to make the right decision, because this will be mine. If they want to buy new collars for their dogs we can bring them out of the stone ages as well since these new ones pair up to 20 collars.

The 550 plus has GPS, but doesn't have the actual map view. Its just a compass that shows you which direction the dog is in and how far away. I only use it for training and when we go for walks. I use the Alpha when we're out tracking deer and stuff like that. The battery on the 300 and TT25s lasts a stupid long time. I charge all my stuff once a week now instead of every night, and that's with the standard battery on the TT25.

Get a Pro 550 plus and a tt25.
If you do go the alpha route, I have a 300i I may sell you.
I’ve hunted over pointing and blood tracking dogs with a 300i and a Pro 550 plus and the 300i is just too much. Too many features I’ll never use. Training commands are tough to access and control quickly.
Pro550 gives you easy training and simple straight forward tracking

That's $100 less than the Alpha 200 and tt25. It sounds like you're saying the simplicity is better than all the features of the Alpha's.

The advanced features of the Alpha are really only a benefit if your dog is regularly getting well out of your sight, so rabbit dogs, hog dogs, deer dogs, tracking dogs, etc.

The advanced features are highly unnecessary (in my opinion) if you’re running an upland dog.

If you stick with alpha, get the 300. The screen is brighter and easier to see when in the field
