I got good ball joints, brand new bilstein shocks, and dual steering stablizer. My truck still does it. One company has a fix but its like 1100 so I just hang on tight. You won't fix it btw you might cover it up for a while though.

Maybe this sounds silly, especially if someone already asked, but have you checked that your sway bar is still intact? Those things can break off from one side pretty easy.
ETA: Opps, nvm. See a mechanic already told you the solution.

Shocks are pro-comp Mx6 adjustables that are probably a year and half old.

Yeah, like I said, as long as I can mask it for about another year and half, I'll be okay. I also changed the rotors within the last year and half, so not sure what that's about.

warped rotors would only cause shake while applying the brakes.
Posted on 7/18/12 at 2:23 pm to meauxjeaux2
And the shake goes away immediately when I apply the brakes.

What the mechanic told you does not make sense

one other way to eliminate this problem is increased toe in. Both wheels would be forced towards the center of the vehicle eliminating any sort of steering shudder.
Sounds like that would be hell on your tires

He told me its on the lift and he's ready to replace them. I told him to just balance and rotate my tires and I would figure out the brake deal on my own or elsewhere.

Yeah, and they're essentially brand new BFG a/ts

Smart call
Know anyone wanting some used BFG A/T's? I have some LT 315/70 R17's off my FIL's hummer sitting in my shop. I have no use for them and would sell cheap.

The design on the track bar/drag link that Ford has is incorrect. They have been doing it since the TTB trucks. Track bar and drag link are supposed to be as close to the same length and as close to parallel as possible. My truck has 140k on it now. Before, the angles were a fair amount greater. The springs have really settled this past 40k miles. I would say probably 1-2" and it has closed the angle.
It doesn't look like it now, but when I had it, the angle was >10 degrees
All of the joints in the front were worn out, so there was a lot of room for it to happen. The steering box also needed to be tightened up.

I'll ask around. Most of my buddies are ballin on 18''s or 20''s
Hammertime,
That some serious stuff man. I've removed my lift several times in hopes of finding something and have only replaced my trac bar with a new fixed length one after my lift. I'm almost positive my steering stabilizer is shot, so I figure I'll go ahead and order a new one this week or early next week. Part is cheap, labor is easy, so why not just see if it would help at least a little. About to go pick up the whip in a minute and gonna hit some crap roads on the way home to see if anything has changed. The rotation and balance is free, so I guess I got out alright.

I appreciate the help. I'm sure you've seen a lot of this type of stuff. On my way to get it now.

Your brakes are shot, and you need a new transmission!

I've heard a lot about the Old Man Emu stabilizers through the Jeep community, but I'll look into the BDS.
