Blake, that's a neat diagram. Not a pistoleer here have not even shot 50 rounds with one though I may have to buy one after reading so much about them on here.

I have either a 38 or 357 revolver- which ever one shoots both bullets- bought 20+ years ago but may have to get a glock or sumpin. That dam Judge tempts me though.

I thought so too, even though it's just a general diagram. You just flip it for lefties.

I had been wanting one for a long time, and had dabbled here and there with friends', but finally took the plunge myself. I find myself playing with it constantly.

duck But that's the great thing about guns, especially handguns IMO. You get what feels right to you, and what you want to shoot. Who the frick cares what anyone else says. They don't have to shoot it.

One problem I'm running into and that I want to talk to one of the guys at the range about... I'm right handed but left eye dominant. It's easier to correct with a handgun seems like, as opposed to a shotgun. (It took me forever to kill a bird with a shotgun because I was always shooting righty- HUGE DIFFERENCE! )

I want to talk to them about it and see if they have some pointers in order to take care of that problem.

I'm a lefty and have always shot righty with shotgun- pretty well, too. Would have to do the eye dominance test to see, not sure which one I am since I point instead of aim- except for squirrels.

A buddy's dad showed me this test. Quick and easy.

that's the one. Evey dad should do this with his son (or daughter!) before they start shooting.

My dad hunted some, but I think he was big into it before I came along. So all of my hunting and shooting experience had been on my own time, for the most part. He'd go with me, but wouldn't hunt.

It wasn't until I got a bit older that I realized my dad was a ridiculously good shot.

Funny how that works. Guess he just got burned out with hunting. We'd go fishing all the time though, so that's why my main outdoor activity is fishing. I really want to get into deer hunting though. Took my first two in the fall of '09 and loved it.

Hey, I got a Springfield XD Subcompact 9mm for my Birthday.

Ammo is expensive, but look at luckygunner.com or bulkammo.com

I go with the lady friend's dad to shoot

Something like this is the cheapest I have seen

Neat, thanks. Had forgotten about that one. I'm right-eyed...better than cross-eyed.

Wasn't it fun? As soon as Mr. CT comes in again we're going to shoot ours!

I'll be purchasing my first pistol this week. Probably a Ruger SR9. The Beretta guns are very nice though. Can't wait to shoot some shite.

nice man. I like the way the XD shoots, it just doesn't feel right in my hand. that's why I chose the PX4.

as for that website... I bought 100 rds of Winchester today at Wal-Marks for 19 bucks and change, so it doesn't really seem like that would save me all that much money when you factor in shipping.

yes ma'am... it was great stress relief after a long week at work. Went fishing Saturday and shot Sunday... decided to have myself a little "man weekend."

Just a suggestion, as it looks like your shots are low of center (assuming you were aiming at the bullseye) but make sure your barrel is level. You are probably dipping the nose a bit and not realizing it. Bring the sights up to your eyes, not your eyes down to the sights. I used to have that problem, and my groupings looked just like that.

The Judge and that comment made me think of this...

Those "groups" arent bad for an inexperienced pistol shooter at 10 meters.

What are you looking at when you shoot? Before, during and after the shot breaks.

.357

Blake... not bad for a rookie beotch. I just bought myself a new toy this weekend... Ruger LCR .38 special. I fricking love it. I put about 60 rounds through it the first day and plan on making this my everyday carry weapon.

This is the first small handgun I've owned. I have a 1911 and a couple of other bigger handguns so this is new territory for me but I'm diggin' it.

Just keep practicing and soon it will all become muscle memory and you'll find your shot. I'm lucky because I have a ton of space right outside my backdoor to shoot whenever I want to.

For some reason this post amazes the shite out of me. It's like when the class clown says something really insightful and rational.
