I would never pay to have mine retrofitted but they do look good. Actually, I may find a wrecked truck at a junk yard and get the lights depending on how much they want.
It's not really that bad. I did mine myself and I got the kit (HID) for $200 from a guy that had bought it and then decided to trade his truck in. I think retail (through a forum group buy) on the kit was $270.
If you pay someone to do it it would run 800 to 1200, depending on what projectors and bulbs you go with.
If you drive on a lot of unlit backroads it makes a huge difference in light output. The cut off lines take a little getting used to, especially on hilly roads.

I aint about to start trying to mess with my lights. I am a decent mechanic but electronics and things of this sort aint my forte.
Maybe in the future.

I'm pretty confident I could do one, I just don't want to try on my only pair of headlights.
And if I'm buying another pair I might as well just buy the oem projectors

Black, easily. The only reason to get the tan interior would be with a brown/white exterior, IMHO.

Buy a cheap pair for a junk yard. Try on your new ones, if you fail, put old ones in.

Quite a price jump. If you think you can do it, try it. Id give you a 6 pack to do mine, after you do yours.

No junkyards that I've called have had anything for 09 and up f150s.
And new ones are way too expensive. If I can come by a extra pair for under $200, I'll give it a shot

If you want a ipad mini in the dash, I can make that one happen easily

I already have the Sony nav but am quickly growing tired of it. The UI of the new Mytouch or whatever it is, is sweet. With that being said, how much to switch from the Sony nav to the iPad mini and what would I gain/lose?
Posted on 5/26/13 at 9:19 pm to Ice Cream Sammich
I'd have to see how the nav is set up because the oem nav has the hvac controls built into it.
I'd do one like mine for $100-150 ipad not included.
I still have sync so It can connect through USB, Bluetooth, or aux in. USB and Bluetooth mean the steering wheel music controls still work. Ipad gets jail broken and hard wired to acc power. It locks when the truck turns off and opens when the trucks turned on.
I have a app that's basically made for what I'm doing. It Has nav, radio, iPod, Internet radio, YouTube and clock/news feed screens.
HD weather radar is pretty legit too.
You can pretty much set it up however you want with whatever apps you want.

That's pretty damn sweet. I think that I am talking myself into a 4" Rancho lift and some 35s but I just got my 305s (only 13k miles). If I get the new suspension, I'll end up keeping this truck a while and probably get in touch with you about the nav.
Just gotta find someone to buy the 305s now.

I'm very interested but have some questions.
Where do all the radio controls go besides the steering wheel?
What about the FM radio?
How long would it take you to install?
How clean is the finish?
Can it be done with an Android tablet?
Can you send a closer pic to
<<< @gmail?

That looks really nice! If you can handle that mod a retrofit wouldn't be a problem.
A mini H1 or D2S (what I have) is pretty much plug and play. Of course you have to heat your headlights up in your oven to separate the lens from the housing. After that the back of the projector slides through the hole that your bulb would go through and lines up with an adjustment ring. Tighten it down with a couple of nuts and your done. The biggest risk is that once you paint the reflector bowl black there is no going back to stock.
Here's a Raptor done with Mini H1s from the same company that my D2S kit came from

Posting to find in the future. CP3 the ipadmini set up is sweet. I like that alot. I usually hook my phone and play music off of it but I really dig the idea of no wires, and not killing the tunes when I get a phone call and you can take the ipad out and sync up new stuff or just play from the airplay app.
Got any advice on installing in custom dashes? I'm leaning towards completely tearing out the dash in my '79 Bronco and installing diamond plate pieces and custom guages. I hate the look of the original guage cluster.

I'll put together some more info tomorrow.
Basically you can only control volume and choose sources from the steering wheel. I'm working on fitting some buttons and the volume and tune knobs back in. Radio still works, xm works, everything but the CD player still works. If you want to keep it with a CD player, it's still possible just a little more expensive.
All I did was mount the stock stereo further in the dash and the ipad takes over as a faceplate.
Android can work the same way, as long as it'll fit in the dash.
Oh and I can still take the ipad out pretty easily. With 4g you can stream pretty much anything anywhere.

That's a nice little setup. Do you have 4G on iPad too or just use your phone as a hotspot?
Posted on 5/27/13 at 12:25 pm to Dr Beardface
Yeah it gets it's own 4g LTE from verizon.
Using a phone as a hotspot works just as well though.
