Thanks for correcting me. The wheels/rims are what to keep. Get rid of those shitty tires.
I like the 295/65/20 but they are only 15/32 deep, maybe less. Not deep at all. There are several 305 tires that come in over 19/32 tread depth.

325's barely rub, so I would say 305's will be fine.

IMO, the best size with a level is the 285/65 that BFG makes. It comes out to a 34.7 X 11.5 and won't rub at all, apparently. This will probably be my choice when it's all said and done.
Second this. I have this exact set-up. Love it.

My suspension is funny because I have the max tow but I have zero rubbing with 305/55/20 all terrains. I will probably go mud tires text and have zero problems.

Which tire comes in that size?

I have 305/55/20........no rubbing issues.

Only BFG makes a tire in that size. They make an all terrain (at/ko) and their mud terrain. In that size, the AT is not very deep tread and the MT is stupid expensive. Not saying that either are bad, but it is what it is.
Full disclosure, my 305/55/20 BFG atko are only 16/32 deep but I got all 4 for under $1000. I will not be getting the same brand next go around.
Many many companies make tires in 305/55/20. Only Nitto makes a tire in a 295/60/20 but they look great.

Thanks man.
I've been trying to look at several different brands/sizes to figure out what I'll want. Honestly won't be doing a whole lot in the mud at first since I'll still be in the hospital much of the time. I like the look of the mud tires better and it seems the Nitto Trail Grapplers can get about 40K miles on them if you rotate them every 3-5K miles so that's def an option. I like the Terra Grapplers too overall. The 305/55/20 tire seems to be a fairly common one, but honestly, I like a little more sidewall so that 295/60/20 would probably be just about perfect. Other big option would be the 285/65/20 in the BFG AT. Also considering the Duratracs

Those do look nice!

Everything you said is a good idea. I never put mine in mud but I need the grip for the clay hills. I lays say, if the tractor can't get there, I have no business being there.
I like the 305 and 295 option that you listed. If you want an AT that is aggressive looking but has great road manners, Mickey Thompson ATZ. It's 19/32 deep, cleans great, looks great, and last forever. Plus, on your salary you won't even mind the higher price.

A buddy of mine has has the Nitto trail graps and they ride like shite, but the Terras are great tires. i also really like the Duratracs, but they don't make a 35 at the moment.

I have trail grapplers on my f-250 and they ride just as good as the dick creepers I replaced.

I have the Terra's in 275/65
I think they are 34.2" tall as opposed to the 32" stock tires but they're the same width as stock which means they stay tucked which I wanted
They are actually taller than the 305/55 I believe, just not as much rubber on the road
I only have one crappy pic with the tires on

Also, the 275/65/20 tires are the stock size for the F250. This makes them plentiful and fairly cheap.
Posted on 6/6/13 at 1:47 pm to Ice Cream Sammich
Ehhh, they are plentiful
They are almost always 10-ply and LT rated which makes them a little heavy and a tad more expensive
I looked hard at the cooper Zeons, but while the 275/60 was about 195 a tire, the 275/65 jumped it up to about 250-260 a tire

Still lighter and cheaper than the other tires discussed.

Are they out of balance? My Trail Grapplers have the best street manners of any mud tire I've ever run, and are as good on road as ATZs.

Those look good. Nice sidewalls and good tread. But not as deep as the ATZ. Kind of odd.

I like the radials better, but they're so frickin expensive.
