I'm getting a .380 soon so my GF can shoot it.

She's never shot a firearm before (I know, blasphemy on this board) but she knows how to catch the shite outta some salt water fish being born and raised in Destin Fl.

Chicot State Park in the Ville Platte area has cabin rentals, trailer/tent spots, & a great fishing lake. They just reopened the lake, drained it for some maintenance stuff. If you don't rent a cabin, there are 22 miles of trails to hike. Very beautiful park & the trails aren't "hard hiking". They are also pet friendly, we always bring the dog out for a hike when we go. There are also some day use picnic areas complete with bar b que pits & a view of the lake.

Perch jerking is pretty low key and fun. My wife only likes to wade fish coon point and sac a lait fish, go figure. I know guys scared to get in the water but for some reason she loves it.

The sacs in the basin should be blowing and going right now, but its gonna be slow for a while after this cold front.
