My problem with Ring is I already have Simplisafe and if I get ring I will have to set up a whole different system which will cost me a lot of $$$$$ upfront that I already spent once on Simplisafe...
Cameras are independent of the Alarm system. They are currently not tied together, all though that is coming down the pipe. They just use the same app. Even if you have the ability to use them with a Ring Alarm, they won’t be required to interact with each other.

Is this just because of having to replace batteries?
Yep, the cameras don't use a lot of battery power since they aren't always on, but the lights will drain batteries much faster

Yep, I have Blink. Been happy with them for 6 months or so.

We have the Arlo 2 cameras and they are nice. Had them for about 2 months ago and no complaints so far.

I'm gonna have to agree with Arlo. We have the pro and it's been fairly good so far. We've been using it for 6months now and we've only charged it once. It's wireless so the set-up is pretty quick. I'm quite impressed with its night vision, it's clear for a location with very little light. Although its motion sensor can be a bit faulty sometimes, sending notifications that aren't exactly necessary.

Seriously i would look at ADT new products they have all wireless and can integrate what you have into their system. I was impressed talking with one of their engineers last week was not looking for product just picking up food and chatting with the guy.

My only suggestion is to not use wireless if mounting to your house. Too easy to get a wire pulled through and you will have much better performance without having to worry about changing batteries constantly.
I installed 4 Blink XT cameras in November. Six months in and they are running off of the batteries that came with them with no signs of running down.
Changing the batteries isn’t really a concern for Blink XT.

Also, having battery powered cameras give you flexibility. You can move them around with zero headache.

They come with mounts
But they are absolutely awful. Go ahead and buy new ones and the outer protector shells from Amazon.
I've got these for motion lights and they work pretty well as a cheap option: Network motion sensor lights
When one comes on, they all come on.

Have you had to change the batteries yet? There are a lot of mixed reviews on battery life.

No go on wireless. If putting on eaves you got plenty of options to get a hot wire out there, use one.
