I'm against all this breeding for the big racks.
Doesn't mean very much if anyone can pay to go shoot a deer like that.
agreed....it's almost the same as buying a pretty head mount from a deer like that

I'm all for allowing lazy rich people to pay $30,000 to kill them. I simply think they should be required to keep the ear tag in after taxidermy is completed and they should also frame the credit card receipt on the plaque as well.
I'm not so much bothered by the genetic engineering as I am seeing a majestic whitetail inside a 25 acre enclosure. I prefer to think of them as wild and free, its a shame to see animals living in those conditions...

He looks like he is having trouble holding his head up with all that mass.

I dont get it. If you have a vial of his stuff what do you do with it. Wear it as a peal necklace? are people catching deer getting them prego and releasing them agian? Wat if the one you got prego gets shot on doe day on your neighbors property?
No, I get it, but talk about buying your deer.

What kind of crazy steroids have they been feeding that deer? Truth be told, those animals wouldn't survive in the wild as it would be all but impossible for them to go through any thick cover. It's like paying to shoot a cow.
If a deer has got a name, I don't care to shoot it.

If big rack elk can survive in thick cover I would think a shorter deer could.

Yeah, those pine thickets in Louisiana are perfect big rack elk habitat.

Who said anything about LA? Referring to thick cover in general as what was said.

The point is there is differences in thick cover between what an elk or deer can traverse.
The original point is that now way a deer with those kind of horns could suvive in the wild. The added weight and size of those antlers puts them at a competative disadvantage for food, predator avoidance and breeding.

I definitely agree they are at a disadvantage in the ways you mentioned but not that they couldn't traverse thick cover. Just mo.
