They have been in business for a long time and are very professional. Highly recommended.

5k is bad but that's for a factory reman installed. I paid 4200 to get a factory reman put in my 02 3/4 ton and that was a 4 speed.
Not sure about the transmission in 3/4 ton but I had one put in a 2002 1/2 ton Silverado that was a factory remanufactured that cost $2600 and came with a 5 year warranty.
For people not familiar a rebuilt transmission usually has the parts that are bad replaced. A remanufactured one has all new parts inside.

Reviving this thread to see if there are any new opinions.
Having torque converter issues on a 2015 F150, but may be larger than that.
Are the good options still:
-Darrell thibodeauxs in opelousas
-Juniors
-All A's in broussd
-Lafayette Transmission on dulles

$5000 to replace it with a rebuilt one
A GM one?
Id take that. That's a good price for a crate gm transmission ready to go.
Eta: fek

2015 F150 with the 6cyl Flex Fuel 3.5L. 120k miles
I have a shudder (think riding over a cattle guard) intermittently. Dropped Shudder Fix (a transmission fluid additive) into the transmission and it fixed it....temporarily. That pointed to the fluid being degraded, so I did a fluid swap (not a flush). It's been about 8 months and it keeps coming back. Deer season starting up, so I'll be on the road a bunch, so I'd like to see what can be done to keep me off the side of the road ha.
First thought is that I definitely need the torque converter replaced....BUT...I'd like a trustworthy shop to talk to about torque converter, rebuilding transmission, options. I mean they have to drop everything to get to the converter, so would it be cost prohibitive to maybe rebuild the transmission now while in there or is that not necessary? Truck is overall is solid shape and with the cost of vehicles these days, I'd rather fix my paid for truck than jump into a note....if it makes sense.
*Shudder fix is awesome and cheap. If that's your symptoms, try that for $11 first. Worst part is that you have to fill it under the truck - there's no underhood fill tube.

I have the exact same issue that recently started with 2015 F150 5.0 V8, 186,000 miles.
Will be bringing my truck in next week either to Christian Brothers on Johnston or All As in Broussard

I'm bringing mine to Jr's in Carencro. Probably next week as well. Let me know what they say and I'll do the same.

Christian Brothers diangosed it with need a new transmission, estimate was $8,600
Brought it to All As Transmissions in Broussard, they had same diagnosis but quote was $4,800
Guy at All As said Christian Brothers is a good place but they technically don't do transmission replacements, they send it to someone else, sometimes All As and then mark it up.
So my truck is currently on the lift at All As as of noon today (Tues) and will be ready for pickup on Friday.

Good info. Mine ran normal this past weekend (Lafayette to MS and back). Kept it in sport mode (OD off). May kick the can down the road a minute if I can.

Are you sure you have transmission shudder and not misfiring due to worn spark plugs or bad coils? I know mine will sputter and chug without throwing a CEL if my spark plug gap gets too wide.
FYI I have an ecoboost with a tune and drive it like I stole it for 200k miles and still am on original water pump, coils, engine, turbos, and tranny, though I’m religious about service including tranny and diff fluid and coolant and such and I run a 170°F thermostat so that everything runs 20° cooler and lasts longer.

I don't blame you. I am only fixing mine now because we are about to sign to start a custom build and don't want to add a payment on my DTI until after we finish. Plus my daughter starts driving in 2 years so may just hand her over this truck when I buy something new.
