don't really know how I feel about this... It's kind of like going on paid hunts in an enclosed area, right?

I don't view it as bad as the paid hunts, and it's good that your kids get some fun out of it I guess. Nice looking fish though.

not even remotely close.

stocking a pond with fish =/= to hunting high fence.

She is quite fantastic

Scuba - I really don't know much about stocking a pond. Like I said I don't think it's on the same level, and it depends where you get the fish from. what is protocol? Where do most people get their fish to stock it with?

I think it would be fun to catch fish on the lake and transfer them to your pond. sort of like a live trophy collection that keeps reproducing.

Fish hatcheries. You can either get them from the state or from privately owned hatcheries. Sure, you could go out to a lake and catch them then transfer them. You also run the risk of killing the fish in the first place due to shock, etc.

With hatcheries you know what you're getting- We stocked with a pure Florida strain. But... either way, you're stocking fish into a smaller impoundment, so wouldn't it be the same thing?

With stocking, you're just creating a new population and ecosystem. I can see where you can see where they are similar... and it's honestly kind of difficult to explain the difference.

FWIW in Texas all lakes are technically reservoirs that are man made and all of the fish populations in them were stocked.

So catching the fish and tranfering to your pond would be like stealing from a high fenced area to stock your pond so you can high fence fish (if you feel this way)

Ok Ok I get what you are both saying. I guess I care more about fenced animals (deer, moose, elk, etc) than fish. And like Scuba said they get them from fisheries, so it's transferring them from one place to another either way.

I just find it more fun to be out on the boat in the lakes/gulf fishing than anything else. To each his own though. Thanks for informing me a bit about privately owned ponds, I really didn't know much about them.

very true. Isn't the only natural lake in Texas Caddo?

It's hard to explain how they're different. I can certainly see how one would think that they are the same thing... but... dammit. Words elude me right now. They're just different.

I do the same with posters and their avy's. Also, I am actually in shape, and I can say this because I work my arse off to be in shape. Just not in tip top shape

That website is just a workout site - nothing too unsafe for work, just some sports bras and tight fitting pants, haha

Exactly. It hasn't quite gotten to blue stage yet. If Washington sucks arse this season, that shite is gonna get blue-hot before he knows what hit him.
