That's an incredible amount of money for each of them!! We have 11 more days to go.

Thanks man. My reward is the gift of the relationship EJW and I had for many years and able to be here in any way possible for his beloved family that was left behind. Seeing the amount of love and support everyone here has given them makes them happy. For that, I'm eternally thankful to my OB brethren.

What happened to the links?
I removed them due to privacy concerns. I will go back and add them if there is a demand for more donations. I figured the fund raiser had hit its peak and didn't want to leave their personal information out there for lurkers to get a hold of. There has been many more lurkers come over here lately and we have been getting plenty of attention for some reason.
Both kids are at $2,127 as of today, which is amazing to say the least.

??? Like many others, I've found the original EJW thread to be tragic, yet inspirational. I've checked this thread for updates maybe a dozen times since it was posted. If that makes me a lurker and/or causing unwanted attention, my apologies...
You created this thread and one or more people requested a sticky, presumably to generate additional interest for Josey's kids fundraising effort. That happened as planned. Is the family being harassed in some way?

I realize the concern and confusion. I had no idea the fund raiser was going on for three weeks when I started this thread. I thought this was something that was quick and would be over in no time. The OB came through in amazing fashion.

Four, I think you should handle it anyway you wish. You are a good buffer and are just looking out for them.
Let us know their totals if possible, I'm hoping for 10X their target amount.

If anyone gets close to them, re-post the links, I'll donate. Want them to win....

They have it wrapped up and special things are being planned for them. They are two grand ahead of any other student, a piece. The OB has spoken and the school has listened. I have email correspondence of "special events in the works" for these two.
I'm now worried about next year's jump a thon being a letdown after this year's amazing showing.

Special things and special people like you, Choirboy and so many others on the OB plus family and friends will get this precious boy and girl through this. Tough seeing for first time today 8 year old Jake's Dec. 2d handwritten journal entry in his school notebook : " My Thanksgiving break wasn't very fun because last night my Daddy passed away (drew sad face). I woke up early and went to the doctor where my Daddy died".

No reason to worry. Will not happened. I never met EJW (Jason), but these kids / this family will be taken care of by the OB for years to come.
4LSU2 - you get the friend of a lifetime award in my book!

He told me the worst part of the whole ordeal wasn't the physical pain and mental anguish he endured. It was seeing the looks on those two faces when they were told of the diagnosis and that they would have to do just that in the near future. I will never forget that conversation as long as I live.

That was him to the core. Always more concerned about family and friends than himself.

I woke up the other night and couldn't sleep. I started thinking about the time 10 or so years ago when we were about to finish college that he got a raging hard on for a camouflage boat to kill ducks at Browning Panther. We took a POS boat over there on a whim during one of those eventful trips and he was flustered to the gills needing a new boat. He called you on the way back to Monroe talking about a boat and you told him many times it was a terrible idea. I told him many times over it was a terrible idea. Low and behold, he skipped class and work that afternoon and ended up at "Linh John's Big Boat Go Fast" and had a new boat to duck hunt out of.
Those memories are what I focus on.
