I didn’t have a decoy so I set up in some thick shite to get him in close as possible. Admittedly I rushed my shot. Was the first one I’d ever called in gun range so I was excited. I’ve made maybe 5 hunts in 8 years so it’s stil new to me.

I killed my first one in MS on Friday. I’m new to this as well. Third time I’ve been turkey hunting. I didn’t know what the fuss was about, but when that bastard hammered down on top of me after a call, I wasn’t sure I could gather myself. Closest thing I can compare it to is killing a buck with a bow. I’m hooked.

Good hunt this morning. We doubled my buddy killed his first bird. Cold and windy but they still wanted to play!

well my season ended quickly....tagged out this morning on my best bird yet...Never gobbled, but walked right in range following a hen....10" beard and 1-1/4" spurs
