If i had to have one boat for all that i would want a 22' pathfinder. Great in the marsh and good enough for open water on calm days.

No boat is perfect for both. One thing is a shallow draft boat is always good in the marsh and good in open water on a nice day. A deep v is never worth a damn in the marsh but always better in open water. Just depends on what you will do more.

you cant really have it all. I have a deep V, I can run offshore if I feel like it for snapper and can speck and redfish in a lot of areas. You just have to learn what your boat is capable of as far as water depth goes.

Pathfinder 2300 HPS

If you're OT Rich... Minus the Tee Top for my personal preference. Not that I don't like Tee Tops. I just like casting more.

Thats my boat a 20' Twin Vee I routinely fish Venice in the summer. Trout Reds and Red Snapper. I only go outside on good days.

Draws less than a foot and has a soft ride. I do wish it had more creature comforts. Live well bigger tank et.
Has two fuel tanks. Main is 36 gallons. Reserve is 12 Gallons.

Twin Suzi 70hp. My typical trip in Venice only burns 20 gallons and that includes going just offshore for Snapper.

Has more fishing room than most 22's

I don't see why you couldn't put one. My boat does not have the bow rails.

I guess thats why i fish venice. I just anchor in a few spots the specs are there or not and then motor out and get my snapper. Never burn much fuel in the boat.....and always come back with stock for the freezer.

But i agree a trolling motor would be nice.

Well, I have been tossing around the idea of getting a boat, and this video just made my mind up for me.

This is what I am looking at for the same situation as you, minus snapper:

To buy one or not? Incredible boat. Price tag will make you puke. They thought of absolutely everything.

I think everyone has overlooked a most significant factor.

What's your budget?

I just priced a 22 foot and it is in the low 50's. I couldn't believe it. i was expecting in the high 30's maybe at the most.

My brother in law bought a 19ft pathfinder with a 150hp yamaha about 10 years ago in the high 20's. I have no idea why they have gone up so much though in the last 10 years. His was a bare model with no T-top and no trolling motor.

Because they can. They've upgraded the quality of every feature on them in the last 10 years. And the fit and finish. They were always well built and solid performers, but they just pimped them out to compete with the Rangers and Sheerwaters of the world.

I would never buy on new. You can get a 2005 in great shape for 25K. They'll last 20 years if you treat em right.

I have boat fever and looking at a C-dory. Nice little cruising rig. Maybe a used 22'.

I just watched the video above. It does come with a lot more options than 10 years ago. Nice boat.

I was just like... No! Damn! Really? Courtesy lights under the gunnels... The toe kicks on the console... One for sitting position, one for standing, adjustable seating, individually LED lit switches.

As they say on the OT.... It moved.
