You don’t have to be a good swimmer. All you have to do is be able to keep yourself on the surface and not lose your mind and panic. The second part of that is the hardest part.

You know that, and I know that, but there are far more people who will panic in that situation and drown simply due to ignorance about how to deal with rip tides.

Can confirm, no way anyone should not be wearing PFD’s when those waves were as bad as they were this weekend. Should have never been out on the main lake in the first place in that dinky pontoon anyways.

The dad of the 10yr old girl has been posting updates on FB. I went to high school with him. Still on the ventilator and sedated. Seems like they will continue to slowly come off of the medications and decrease ventilator settings to see how she responds.
