What size and what do you want for it? It’s a pedal, right?
Posted on 11/29/24 at 2:44 pm to Tornado Alley
12’ Hobie Compass (lime green)
Pedal drive with reverse
Trolley and Anchor
Lowrance Fishfinder (needs new battery)
Hobie cart (beach version with big wheels)
Paddle
Rail mount rod holders
I need to do some research to see what similar ones are selling for- it looks like anywhere from $1600-2000.

Anyone have any thoughts on the pedal drive systems from Native and Pelican? Is Hobie generally regarded to be the best and, if so, why?
I’m not familiar with Pelican’s drive but the Hobie Mirage Drive and Native Propel Drive are pretty much the top two on the market and have been for a while as far as I know.
I’ve demoed Hobie and Native and both drives are great. I haven’t used the Mirage 360 drive, though.

68 lbs for the bare hull.
I used a bed extender and the cart to help slide into the back of a truck. I always put the seat and drive in the backseat of my truck since they are easier to steal.

I’m not close to NELA. But if you want to email about price, let me know and I’ll give you my email.

I will try to get some pics of the kayak for you. I always put black duct tape on the bottom to protect the bottom from scratch’s, but there still are some (I fished Joes Cove at Big Lake a lot and launched at Dugas Landing which wasn’t very “kayak friendly”).
Where do you live? I travel a lot for work and could always make a little “side trip” to you depending on where you are

I live a long way from NELA. I am going to keep looking in my local area. Best of luck selling your yak.

Anyone have experience with a Vibe Mankana 10’ pedal? Looking into one now.

Got a delivery yesterday evening. I was able to put on the seat and sidekick wheels and put it on the stand last night. Gonna put the propel drive together this morning and hopefully go take a test drive in my neighbors pond later today. I’ll try to get some better pics later. This thing is a beast!

Congrats. How heavy is it?
Posted on 1/4/25 at 7:58 am to LSUlefty
It’s pretty heavy but nothing I can’t handle. Especially with the sidekick wheels I can easily move it around. I’ll let you know when I try to load it into the bed of my truck.

Ready to go take this thing for a test drive!

Bump for the new guy and see if Pillage landed any lunkers in that new rig!?
Been hitting up Dulac last couple weeks
Reds are plentiful, trout not so much
Thinking about rolling to big lake tomorrow, well if there’s any water left..

Any suggestions for spots to kayak fish around Cocodrie? Went back behind LUMCON a few weeks back but the water is really low back there. Only managed one red.

To be honest, Coco is so hit a miss. I rarely make the trip down there sometime last year went out of Sevin canal and went north, only found crabs in the mud
If you can go launch out of T-Irvs in Delac and fish the marsh to the NW or right behind the launch under the bridge on Caillou rd
With this weather ya gonna need deep holes and some moving water

Nice!
I wouldn’t call them lunkers but I’ve put a few in the boat this past fall. I passed my old kayak down to my son and he’s been getting his feet wet. Good times.
Also decided to get a trailer last fall because loading these things in the bed of my truck is not only a pain, but it was sketchy.

I’m sure it’s come up by now but I haven’t been in a while cause the water was super low. Even for a yak.

It’s a Malone Microsport kayak trailer. Very much worth the money. Makes hauling the yaks so much easier. As well as loading and unloading.
