Yes a good point. Somewhat controlled populations in high fence areas and even the QDM practices on unrestricted lands likely override Bergmann's rule a bit.

Yeah corn is fine for attracting, energy (high carb), and possibly holding a few deer. Problem is it is 9% protein. As far as antler growth goes, it does basically nothing.

That and out of state hunters can only kill 1 buck in most of those states.

That allows for age, but has little to do with size disparity between like age class deer.
