Monroe is only 10 minutes closer to Winnsboro than Natchez is (40 vs. 50 mins.) if you would rather stay to the south.

Some of my wife’s family is from winnsboro. Her grandmother passed away a couple years ago and we were trying to figure out where to stay. We ended up in Natchez.

I lived in Winnsboro until I was 13, at which point I moved to Monroe for the next 15 yrs. Stay in Monroe...much easier commute to Winnsboro than Natchez is. Too many sma towns between Natchez and Winnsboro. But, BE CAREFUL GOING THROUGH BASKIN!

Try the hotel at Black Bear golf course at Poverty Point. Small and quaint on the golf course
