I thought a .40 would be easier, only because it seems like the 9mm is what everyone else (myself included) is clamoring for.
We love it, the SO has tiny hands, but a subcompact would have been too uncomfortable for her. She is a big fan of my 1911 trigger, so getting a APEX put in soon so it lightens up.
Thats the only complaint I have, its not a terrible trigger at all, its just gritty or something, cant really put my finger on it. Either way, there are plenty of options for triggers, from kits to basic gunsmithing, that can improve it if you arent a fan. Some people like the longer triggers, again, because of the safety aspect, but with a thumb safety, I dont see the need for both.
Also, we have fired a few hundred rounds, and the only issues we have had were very early in the process when she was still learning about maintaining a proper grip. Since then, its been great, and shoots very accurately. I have pics of her targets on my twitter from the last range visit, even she shoots very well with it.
