Because the illegal ISN'T an American citizen who should be here and is here legally. The illegally flagrantly disregarded our laws from the jump and entered our country illegally, then had the complete lack of respect and consideration not to conduct themselves in a manner so as not to harm and kill American citizens. The deterent aspect of this punishment for illegals would be a benefit.

And also... frick illegal aliens that harm and kill Americans. That's why.

No, you were saying if we don't treat American citizens like that why treat illegals differently. But since you brought it up, it should be the punishment for American citizens too. I'm pro death penalty for lots of crimes. We don't use it nearly enough.
