From what I hear about the budget situation there, it's probably less feasible that it's been in quite a long time. Everyone is hurting, but I have to believe that a state the depends on tourism and oil revenues is just getting walloped right now, especially since you don't have a state income tax. I love AK and hope things get better quickly.
