Yes. Whether you like it or not he is (will be) the President of the USA and should be protected. Is it overkill? Absolutely, but with the protests that have taken place over the last year it is necessary.
I didn’t vote for him but if Trump had won and the same measures were taken to protect him the other side would be saying the same thing all of you are now about protecting him. This whole thing is ridiculous IMO.
