It shouldn't? Let's see country A says American companies cannot sell cars or motorcycles in country A, but country A sells it's cars and motorcyles in America...

If by central control you mean making other countries treat America fairly. I'm all for that.
It's the gov't doing it's job... protecting American companies and people rather than catering to another country for likes and personal accolades (like a Nobel Peace Prize)

The number one job is combined DEFENSE. Gotta have a well army/outfitted military to protect us from invasion.

In theory, yes. (But hasn't the gubmint and militart "defense" already allowed the 50 million-strong invasion of foreign "armies", aka illegals to pour through our alleged border unimpeded?)

When was the last time we were threatened with "invasion" or invaded outright?

We can NOT keep giving a blank check to the MIC. We can't keep on inventing bogeymen to justify it. It's bankrupted us already.

Im waiting for the well thought out plan of action from the libertarians.

But all I see is some blowhards that don't live in reality.

Also that work requirement is supposed to start in 2026. Not several years from now.

Tariffs penalize small businesses and individuals to prop up massive woke corporations.

Its crony capitalism, period.

Who has he made meaningful compromises with?

I guess we are both waiting.

What I’m waiting for could be provided in this very thread though.

You thought it was a 10,000 page bill. I don't think we have ever had a 10,000 page bill.

He said Massie should be voted out of office.

The same thing AIPAC wants.

Does that count?

So if you have a checking account and start a side job that brings in $500 million of passive income per day, you are telling me that you haven’t generated extra income that you didn’t have before?

yeah... to successfully fear-monger you have to have credibility from past fear-mongering.

Well round back when the economy crashes, every day product prices skyrocket, and store shelves are empty from those dastardly tariffs that 1 Billion well-known PhD economists promised would happen.

You're both presenting various arguments made to defend the tariffs, as the admin has presented 4-5 of them that are mutually exclusive.

If you're right, we will get more tariff revenue but will have a smaller GDP and less tax revenue from that smaller GDP. I imagine the GDP loss will be greater, creating a net-negative revenue scenario.

If he's right, our tariff revenue will be much smaller, as the goal would be reduction of tariffs across the board.
