Comer worries conspiracy theories could drown out Epstein investigation

Politico reported on Wednesday that Comer drew comparisons to the 1964 report led by Chief Justice Earl Warren on the assassination of former President Kennedy.

“There’s so many conspiracy theories,” Comer said, noting that’s one big reason he initially “wasn’t excited about doing the investigation.”
Comer is moving forward with the Oversight investigation, even after President Trump signed into law the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which mandates the government release documents related to Epstein.

He said that amid public calls for a purported “list” of Epstein clients, he tasked Democratic and Republican women on the committee to meet with victims privately to try to learn the identities of the people complicit in Epstein’s crimes.
“If there is no Epstein list, and the American people expect us to compose an Epstein list, if we don’t get any names from the victims, it’s going to be hard to do,” Comer told Politico.
