The black part is a much bigger deal
White people have always vacillated back and forth in terms of voting. Black people have been the most reliable voting Bloc in the history of the world.
Democrats have known for 20 years that if that situation ever breaks they are completely fricked.
And Republicans don't even have to start winning the black vote. They don't even have to start doing well with the black vote
If Republicans simply started winning as much of the black vote as they do of the gay vote the Democrats might not win another national election for 30 years and we have a hard time in most Statewide elections

But if something causes the black vote to stop being very close to completely monolithic the Democrats are in trouble and they know it.
Right now any elections that go horribly for Democrats among blacks they still win 94% give or take of the black vote.
That's why they're so convinced they will become invulnerable in future elections. They basically count up the Hispanic vote and the assumed black vote and figure they can't be beat
But that entirely rests upon their ability to keep minorities on the plantation. Blacks Chief among them
Were they to start only winning 85% of the black vote they would be completely fricked. If the black vote ever became about like other minority votes Democrats would have to completely change their ideology to salvage themselves
That's the Dirty Little Secret of American politics right now. Blacks are nowhere near as liberal in reality as their votes would indicate. So their voting patterns give a false indication of how popular liberalism is in America
Democrats have known this for quite some time. It's why they spend so much time on identity politics. They understand that 98% of blacks aren't ideologically liberal. It would be fricking retarded to believe that. So instead you have to make sure they're afraid of the other guy
