Please show me where I equated? I can show you where you attempted to legitimize. You went after someone for word choice and you made the same mistake.
I am quite comfortable knowing that both scenarios are evil. And I am quite comfortable knowing that I never equated the two and quite comfortable that I did not attempt to legitimize either.

OK, since you want to play that game of a person being able to “consent” which to you is simply verbally saying yes and acting on it, tell me where it stops being “consensual” for a 24 year old to convince a 14, 13, 12, 11, 10 etc year old to fondle him for ice cream? That’s called coercion and is not consent. We are talking about a 14 year old who says “I want to have sex.”
I don’t particularly care to chase this rabbit, because it’s wholly irrelevant to what’s being debated in this thread. Bottom line to me is that a 50 year old molesting a 4 year old is not (and should not) be treated the same as someone in their 20s sleeping with a teenager. Words mean things. Pedophilia is sexual attraction to prepubescent children. That is all.

F U CA. Gosh, every time I miss how beautiful it was my whole life living in "wine country", something like this pops up and I'm like oh yeah. There's a reason I moved to the humid flatlands of the Gulf Coast. 22-12. 18-8. 24-14. 25-15. All those frickin me too bullshiters vote for the pedo groomer super-majority Democrat state lawmakers who pass this frickery without the consent of the people governed. Please pray for CA. All of my conservative close family is still stuck there. 5 nieces and nephews under the age of 13.

The last 10 years brought big city problems to my small-ish city, but the lay-up to that was a bunch of pearl-clutching bleeding hearts (and a lot of them were well-meaning bandwagon hoppers) who created a safe haven for criminals, and of course the milquetoast county prosecutors adopted catch and release, which frustrates Law Enforcement to no end, and probably contributes to many CA LE officers retiring recently. My hometown is still nicer than a lot of places in Harris County, but it's really nice to be able to put my trash out and not have it picked through by homeless people randomly ambling down the street in the middle of the night.
