DeSantis announces Florida arrested 10,400 illegal immigrants in 'Operation Tidal Wave'

quote:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced that Florida has arrested more than 10,000 illegal immigrants since starting a state-wide crackdown last year.

DeSantis made the announcement during a Monday news conference, declaring that "Operation Tidal Wave" led to the removal of 10,400 illegal immigrants from Florida since April 2025.

"In April 2025, Florida partnered with federal law enforcement in the largest joint immigration enforcement operation in ICE’s history: Operation Tidal Wave," DeSantis wrote on X.

"Today, I was proud to announce a new milestone in our joint efforts to combat illegal immigration and restore order in our communities: Florida law enforcement have arrested more than 10,400 illegal immigrants across the state," he added.

If we had a competent Governor, we could do this easily. Thanks to the hurricanes, Louisiana has the largest illegal Honduran population in the USA. They are all still in Home Depot parking lots without any fear of being picked up. I see them daily in Lake Charles. Instead, Landy is too busy trying to build his celebrity.

BTW, it was announced yesterday that Mississippi is now ranked 9th in literacy rates after being 49th for decades. Mississippi is leaving LA in the dust too.

Smart people are getting out. If it weren't for having an elderly mother who needs help, I would follow these folks, too

Louisiana leads the nation in population loss

quote:

For the second year in a row, Louisiana ranks at the very top of states losing population. Louisiana took the top spot for outbound migration in 2024 and it appears there’s now slowing in sight? Is this a blip on the radar?

A worrisome long-term trend for the region? Allison Plyer is Chief Demographer of the Data Center in New Orleans and past Chair of the US Census Bureau’s Scientific Advisory Committee and says the chief culprit is economics. "The state has had really weak economic growth. Since the year 2000, Louisiana has only gained 2% more jobs while the nation has grown at a rate of 20% in the same time. That's a big reason people are leaving the state," she points out.

The best Governor ever in my opinion. I just spent a week down in the Ft Lauderdale area and I gotta say it was awesome seeing how the economy is humming down there... everybody is out spending money and happy.. everybody is friendly towards each other... It's a whole different level of freedom

Is he a Landry fan or something?

Landry is worse in his first term than Jindal was in his second when he abandoned us for his failed POTUS bid, and I didn't think that was possible to top.

I still will never get over how someone as smart as Jindal got roped in and steered by such stupid wrongheaded advising.

Ron listened to the wrong advisors during his POTUS run.

Had he continued to act naturally, he would have been better off. Instead, we got a stiff, awkward version of Ron.

His policies have always been solid but it's hard to even get to that point for the average voter if they think you are awkward, especially in the meme war era.

They think DeSantis did this while wearing high heels in his white boots!! (Nancy Sinatra still wants them back, by the way!!)

The percentage of the Black or African American population in Florida is 15.34% according to the most recent demographic data from 2025.

As of 2025, the Black or African American population in Louisiana constitutes approximately 31.05% of the total population, according to recent demographic estimates.

He spent more time in Iowa than LA those last two years. How he thought he had a shot after a rather unimpressive term as Gov is a mystery.
