Naw, he's decided to stay on since that other confessed assaulter of women, Trump, is not resigning either.

You have to play by their rules. Holding yourself to principles with these people is a losing strategy

Nope, allowing them to dictate YOUR principles is losing.

Scum on both sides with shifting principles is exactly why our country is in the condition its in now.

The plan the entire time was to wait and see what happened with the Moore-Jones election. If Moore had won, he would have refused to resign unless the Senate rejected Moore.

No you aren't . You flat out said you have to have the same principles as them.

You can't force someone to have better principles, you can only do what you should do and hope that others do as well, and refuse to vote for those who don't.

If Americans in general had principles and demanded that politicians did as well, both major parties would disappear.

He's not resigning. He made a faux resignation announcement to try to put out the flames a little bit, hoping the country will forget by the end of the year.

i wasn't super clear, but it's pretty obvious that when someone demands you comply with their standards while not complying with it themselves, you make them eat shite on it.

on principle, i don't think franken should resign, but he and his party say all women should be believed. they have already forced him to announce he will resign as an effective tool against republicans...demanding people practice what they preach is not an endorsement of the standard itself.

this obsession with ideological purity and consistency is the reason why democrats owned republicans for a decade until trump came along. and it's the reason the republican majority in the legislative branch has been mostly worthless.

You should have stopped there. Anything else proves that you put other things ahead of principles.

That doesn’t mean I don’t think he should resign

On principle I also think people need to equally comply with the rules whatever they may be

You can’t handicap one party because on principle, I think one party rule is terrible for an endless number of reasons

I despise the man politically but why should he resign? Well other than he said he would. But, what due process did he get? At least Moore got some form of due process in the form of an election. What part of this did he do as a sitting Senator?

He should be removed for stealing an election and making a mockery of hearings.

However, political offices in Washington and in Minnesota are still finalizing the details.

Translation: They are still waiting to see if Franken actually resigns, or if it was just an empty promise.

Dayton has no power to make Franken resign. It is going to go like this.

" After receiving a enormous outpouring of support from the people of MN, I have decided the right thing to do is stay here, and finish what the voters elected me to do." Al Franken.
