Dude, go check out Beijing 5G. They want to track you and shame you into submission. The entire country knows the social score of each other when it gets advertised as you walk across the street. Times Square is going to have your profile up for everybody to see with all of your information on display by 2050.

I don't think it is as complex as a chip or literal as an actual mark. But, I might be wrong.

Why do you insist on reading words or intentions into the plain text that aren’t stated?
The text clearly says the anti-Christ kills them because they refuse to worship him and take his mark. It even goes on to say, all who take the mark will never inherit heaven.
But you totally make up something that is neither said nor implied.
You could have just as easily said they were killed for not following blue laws!

What if the internet is the antichrist? Don't need an RFID, every computer/network has an IP address, and they are slowly eliminating the need for currency?
Obviously this is a bit of a stretch, but you can't really take the Bible verbatim, there are things that have been lost in translation.

This is an excuse used often by those who don’t want to follow or believe its teachings.
When the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, almost complete books of the Bible were found and put together. And except for small grammatical errors and spellings, the text were nearly identical to our present bibles.
And as far as different translations, they are all translated from the Ancient Greek or Hebrew text which can be deciphered using modern concordances.

with advances in automation and robots, it could very well still follow this line of thinking. 2000+ years ago how would you describe a human like robot?
