If you believe in God then you have to believe that God uses imperfect people to do His work, but I've never liked the idea of casting Trump as a Messiah figure or crusader for Christ. I think Trump and his people use that when it's convenient.

Yeah, this is perfectly said

Can you link your post condemning DeSantis for having a parody of the exact same song? It is this another example of your glaring hypocrisy?

Neither are “parodies”. They aren’t poking fun at the idea that God made a farmer. They are meant to fire up evangelical voters and make them think of Trump and DeSantis as Godly leaders. To that end, I will happily condemn both of their videos. But I will add this, DeSantis at least practices his faith, whereas Trump only ever talks about Christianity when it directly serves his purpose, so I’m more annoyed by Trump on this. I’m still voting for him over DeSantis

I would never ever say Trump is godlike or even sent by God.

Then you'll go on record as agreeing with those criticizing this silliness then.

Noted.

Sure.

This has nothing to do with voting for someone or not. This isn't any issue that should decide someone's vote.

It's obviously just an embarrassingly silly campaign tactic and the argument is really with the Trumpanzees who deny it because they really do idolize Trump, even if their idolatry doesn't extend to claiming he's God.

Idiots like the guy I replied to above are oblivious to the fact that their tender man-love for a hugely flawed candidate who simply happens to be better than the radical socialist and anti-American left with the best chance to win the election causes them to deny all of his obvious faults and defend him in a way they wouldn't defend their wife or girlfriend.

In other words, this is just an argument trying to get cult members to admit that the object of their heroic fantasy does many stupid things and has several personality traits that if their boss at work had them, would cause their smooth populist brains to dream about slashing his tires and giving his Mercedes a Chicago Sunset.
