Sure. There are a lot of countries that are a mess. There was no reason for us to single them out and collapse their entire state.
The reason we singled them out was singular. Hussein had his assassins target shrub Bush's father. It was a stupid move. Secondarily we needed to send some juice to the military industrial complex.

You’re misremembering. Iraq was also paying bounties for dead US servicemen, and refused to adhere to the signed ceasefire agreements allowing inspections of their nuclear and chemical weapons facilities. They were launching missiles at US fighter jets enforcing the no fly zone, and damn near every elected legislator in the US was calling for war with Iraq, democrats and republicans.

They probably do have great fire suppression to avoid large scale structure fires. Also have probably been building to missile strike code for decades.

In my opinion, the US is repeating this offer as a pretext to doing what will end their nuclear program for good: dropping the bunker buster made to destroy their nuclear facilities on them sometime next week. I feel like Israel is softening them up, trying to decapitate as much of their leadership as possible, and inviting Iranian retaliation to manufacture consent for when the USAF sweeps in and drops a nuclear-equivelent-powered conventional bomb on Iran.

Like I said in another thread. Iran will have to fight this War Asymmetrically. Their focus should be getting oil prices to $150 per barrel. That will change the risk assessment for the conflict very quickly
