It's not just in Louisiana, you're seeing it everywhere now. There is a segment of the population that thinks that somebody that holds office is smart. That's not true. While there are some bright people in office, most of the time they're not. It takes only two things to get elected for most people. You have the right people backing you, and you have charisma. Hell, if you're Joe Biden and you have enough of the right people backing you, you can be dull as a board and dumb as a box of rocks, not to mention be a dementia patient and lead what's left of the free world. A lack of integrity or any leading principles is a plus. That's why I could never hold a political office, plus I don't want that burden (I guess because what I could gain financially doesn't move the needle for me.)
