I did not know one person close to Kennedy who thought he was going to run. Once he figured out he could play the folksy sound bite machine and get national media time he was dialed in to being Senator.

Is this where you bash Louisiana republicans and conservatives, the state itself, and say nothing about how obvious JBE has been as a classic tax and spend liberal, like you have been doing for the past three years?

Go right on ahead.
It would be what I expect of you.
Run away.

For comparisons sake, JBE and Vitter announced they were running for Governor in spring 2014, well over a year and a few months before the election.
Wrong. JBE announced in Feb 2013. I just googled it. I knew he campaigned for over 2 years. Turns out it was over 2 1/2 years. Guess that's what you have to do when you're a relatively unknown from a small town. Whoever decides to run now has about 10 months. They better come with some legit name recognition, or he'll win in the primary.
Actually, if we're being honest, he'll probably win in the primary regardless.

Go ahead.
Countless people here have been telling you for MONTHS that Kennedy was not running. There was no fricking decision today.

I don't have a problem with that.
Anything that can help Louisiana have an effective senator should be encouraged.
What I do have a problem is using the Gubernatorial race for those soundbites if he had no intention of running. It gives people the wrong impression and makes people wait for him to shite or get off the pot when he never got on it in the first place.

I don’t deny that JBE has been a tax and spend liberal
What I have a problem with is this weird narrative you concocted in your head that this place was some kind of economic paradise pre-JBE

Right now if I had to poll it it would be
JBE
Abraham -5
Meaning I believe the margin would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 4-6 points. JBE is not winning by more than 8 so I do not think it will be a huge blowout.

He won by 12 in 2015 against a sitting Senator.

So you are saying US senator should not speak on or talk about his instate politics got it. What impression would that be? The impression that he cared about his states affairs and more specifically how the state was run financially. Gee, thats a terrible impression to give off to the people back home. No voter "waited" on John Kennedy to make his decision and then decided how they were going to vote come 2019. Granted the rest of the GOP candidates had to wait, but thats politics he had seniority and rank within the GOP here. I am happy Landry dropped out when he did, he will for sure be running next go round if JBE wins.

Go to Houston and dont look back, you can visit on the holidays. I bought 9 acres in Colorado a few months back.
Posted on 12/3/18 at 3:43 pm to That's BS
I know, I think the GOP is better organized than they were 3-4 years ago and when he won Trump had not been elected yet, and I do think he will bring some weight to the election. Thats why I polled it that way

Then why did kennedy feel the need to put out that press release he's not running for Governor?
Maybe he realized he fricked up and gave the wrong impression running his big mouth?

I never have contended that.
Ever.
Link one of my posts stating that and I'll eat my crow. No bullshite.
.....
It's always been my contention that while Louisiana is a poor state with too many RINOs in the legislature and a retarded state constitution and Jindal completely abandoned his state for delusional dreams, Louisiana still has a ton of potential to be a true success story and catch up with at least with the rest of the south. It has the resources and to do just that.
But that cannot happen as long as the political twin of Edwin Edwards is still in office and thus his removal is absolutely necessary and required.

Having a conservative government doesn’t fix our stupid population or the fact that our infrastructure is decades behind the rest of the country

You spoke on Ms politics like you were an expert and were flat wrong, then you make comments like that, nobody in their right mind thinks that JBE is in the same league as a politician as Edwin was. Our state has problems a republican and certainly not a democrat can fix. Minimize them sure, but like others have said you come up with these crazy hot takes that just are not based in reality. Makes you seem uninformed, nothing personal my man I love this stuff and these discussions.

Nope.
Just make it clear that you don't want to be Governor.

Let's be honest here. Kennedy has a reputation as a pure political animal that's a bit of job hopper and his comments was absolutely reinforcing that image.
He's like a barely acceptable version of Scott Angelle.
If Kennedy ran, he would have had to fight that.

Exactly what I'm talking about.
He had a responsibility to make sure Louisiana conservatives had the best chance to win and if he didn't want to run, he had to make that clear.
