I figured a JD would get me into a contracts department. Most of the people working contracts in the companies I've worked for were all old and on the verge of retirement. A company I interviewed with was looking for a guy to work in the company in project controls for a few years and slowly transition into contracts so the old guy doing it now could retire knowing he had someone he'd trained to do the job.

Check for schools that do a dual tract, they were flirting with a combined MBA JD program when I was in. You really wont get more than contract basics at law school and you probably already have that.

good point, I do find constitutional and intellectual property law to be very interesting, though.
