It also probably has less to do with the effects of the drug and more to do with the likely overall behavior of someone who regularly breaks the law by obtaining narcotics. In other words: “If you will break the rules for X then you are likely to beak the rules for Y. “
Others who didn't have more than two beers didn't completely stop at a stop sign, or drove over the speed limit on their way home. None of them were caught by law enforcement.
They show up for work one day, and have to pass a test that determines whether they broke the law driving home in the last 30 days.
Your policy says you can't have those people on the job, because, if they broke driving laws, they'll probably break company policy.
Try to hire people who can pass that test.

Yeah...my wife has never even smoked a cigarette.
I wish I could talk her into doing shrooms one Friday when the kids are at meemaw’s.

I'm sure that's impossible due to insurability and probably a violation of OSHA. You really want some stoned jackass working in a foundry or mill?
The only answer is to start cutting entitlements such as welfare, food stamps, etc.
I dont think anyone is condoning being high at work, just not hiring someone cause they smoked a spliff on the weekend. If you get tanked at a football game on Sat you dont get disqualified for applying for a job.
Serious cutting of entitlements would put millions of able bodied people back in the workforce.

It's hard getting good people to hire, REAL hard.
Labor is a market. Increase pay and benefits till the appropriate sellers of the units of labor you wish to buy show up. That’s how markets work.

The human element throws mathematical logic for a loop though.

How about removing any and all forms of welfare and make people responsible for their own well being.
Then see how many are willing to work or sit around and get high.

Start restricting the wellfare system. If the card only bought basic foods and the housing was small apartments (like they once were) more would be motivated to work. Certain meats, veggies, produce, etc. should be the only things allowed to purchase.

BOOM !!! game set and match, well stated
that is the most clear undeniable example of why its ridiculous stretch to say if someone smokes a little weed they are bad and cant be trusted "because they break rules"

Maybe gov assistance should be tied to the amount of available work.
Pretty solid idea.

End all the freebies and people will take those jobs or turn to crime and end up in jail.
Either is better than basically paying people to breath.

In my town there is a manufacturing plant that has over 100 openings which start at $15/hr. They’re having a terrible time finding folks who can simply piss clean.
the answer is to raise wages. This is how the law of supply and demand works. Of course, I am betting the factory doesn't want to raise wages, instead they just bitch.
Posted on 7/23/18 at 3:37 pm to brian_wilson
So if the wages were $20/hr, would candidates piss clean?
Posted on 7/23/18 at 3:41 pm to Eli Goldfinger
I don't know what that wage is, but eventually you would get candidates who can pass a drug test.
