Israel dictates our military budget
What Israel wants Israel gets and we have to foot the bill
We fight their wars for them

I for one support doing away with the active duty Army and Air Force and having a large powerful Navy
Of course a recovering Marine is going to say that - those navy boys sure brainwash y'all good.
Nonsense in the 21st Century to have only RC Air Force. We could do with a much smaller regular army though, if we didn't have treaty obligations on every fricking continent - I agree with you there.
The USN just can't do everything the USAF does remotely as well as they do, and that is doubly true for the USMC vs USA.
The non-U.S. members of NATO collectively spend about 60% of what the U.S. does (varies from about 55% to 66% over the past 25 years) - and with that money, they purchase about 10% of the combat power we purchase. A robust, multi-theater capability has a certain minimum "buy in" cost - below which doesn't buy you very much at all (and is, therefore, wasted).
I would rather them all give us that money and let us defray our costs. No one is going to sign on to that, so you're right - we should move forward in a post-Cold War world not being everyone's big brother. As long as we're willing to accept the risk that brings (which will almost certainly allow the Russias and Chinas of the world to expand with impunity) and maybe focus on getting those two countries back at each other's throats - I can live with that. However, their nuclear arsenals might make that a dangerous proposition - in the short-term particularly.

Dependent care is not the mission of the military. Period.

Can always count on you for some stupidity. Go back to red pilling.

In 1939 the Army was 10 times larger than the Marine Corps. Now it is about 2.5 times as large. We can see where that curve is headed.
Plus the Army uniforms are increasingly ridiculous looking. Every time they change they look more stupid. It is embarrassing.

Nah, I like the OCPs. Now the ACUs? Those were a shite show I'll agree. Love me some woodlands though.

In other words, what we have historically done when we were not out starting problems and actually tried to live within our means.

On their same pay scale? Good idea. Not.
