This argument that this was Trump's deal and therefore Trump's fault is totally invalid. First of all Trump's deal was a timeline based on the Taliban following various conditions and behavior. Failure to do so would result in the timeline for withdrawal being extended. Biden's team kept the schedule for the timeline but removed all of the terms and conditions the Taliban had to follow to allow for the timeline date. Second of all, within weeks and in a lot of cases days, after the Biden administration came into power they undid every Trump policy, every Trump order, every Trump decision except this one. If they really had doubts about the plan they could have scrapped it or modified it any time they wanted to. They made the conscious decision to stick to the time line and more importantly they made the conscious decision to stick to the timeline no matter what the Taliban did or didn't do. Any way you look at it the buck stops with the Biden administration.
