Unfortunately, this is more insight than we have seen into Hunter's soul, which is dark and troubled, part of me would have preferred that NYP not post it.
Joe first text makes him seems like a sweet and tender father, the "target on my back that YOU painted on me" response from Hunter is the takeaway and paints a darker image.

Yes hunter is pathetic but that even more reinforces how it is ridiculous that he was paid 7 figures for nothing. Joe has done a lot to protect him and some of it looks to be illegal.

Except that his appointment to Burisma’s board looks even less likely due to merit now and even more likely due to the fact his dad was politically involved with Ukraine.

Not sure thats politically damaging to Joe. It does make the Biden family look completely dysfunctional with lots of finger pointing. Joe and his staff implicating Hunter for being a gnat to Joe's political aspirations and Hunter feeling like the scape goat for a fricked up family.
I don't know what he's doing now, if he's in a better place than he was but I've got a gut feeling he's going to suicide/overdose.

Was it Gumbo who asked yesterday if Hunter could have wanted this to become public by intentionally dropping off the computer and refusing to pick it up? This makes me think it's plausible. When addicts don't get want they want, their instincts are to lash out at those closest to them.
