Not necessarily. Just trashy people that looked desperate and not in control of themselves.

It DID happen but stay in denial about how bad it is in the Quarter and entire city right now.

The Morials and Landrieus and Connicks did such a great job, right?

people act like you cant have fun and eat good food anywhere else. Its a joke really that this is what people say new orleans has to offer. Oh but the food is good. I can get good food all over the south and all over louisiana.
Can you give some examples of places in the south that are crime-free where I can get a meal like I can at Luvi, August, N7, Saba, or Nagomi?

You're arguing with people who think Golden Corral is a good meal.

Well, as someone who smoked a lot of weed in his youth, it's not a stretch to say marijuana leaves a "stench".

Even though I left NOLA for better career opportunities and, later, to raise a family, I think a part of me always thought I’d move back “home” one day. When I think of “home”, I smell gardenias and sweet olives. I see foliage and architecture. I remember never meeting a stranger.
It’s heartbreaking to realize that the NOLA I remember and love no longer exists.

All overrated and not worth dying for. But you do you. New Orleans is a shitbucket. No way to spin it.

I don't disagree with you, necessarily. Can you provide some restaurants that are NOT overrated?

this didn’t happen
One of my friends I spent the wkend with was a DA in Orleans. She’s still connected with law enforcement there.
She confirmed that in the last couple of wks an
unconscious woman was raped on a corner in the FQ and a cop just walked by. He defended his actions bc he wasn’t a police officer- only a constable.
I didn’t hear about any junkies shooting up outside Galatoire’s though. So I’m sure that kind of thing couldn’t possibly have happened.

You really just described how I go about the city, doing what I please. By no means am I saying there is no risk, but I drive, walk, bicycle, and uber all over town. It simply is not as dangerous as many make it out to be, while at the same time being far more dangerous than it should be.

Same. We always had plans of buying a condo in the warehouse district once we got closer to retirement. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen any longer

You must work in tourism.
"Come to our city, it has just as many junkies as the others!"

Well, no where is crime free but not every place is the murder capital.
But, Luvi is just a bunch of fried stuff. They literally serve chicken wings.
You can get stuff on augusts menu in other cities in louisiana.
i have never been to N7 so i cant comment on if its good but i see they have sashimi and avocado salad on their menu. i cant get sashimi anywhere else in the country? I call bullshite. looking over their menu, they have fricking corn on the cob with butter. is this a joke? seriously, corn on the cob? such a fricking masterful dish.
saba is my favorite out of the ones you mentioned, but yes im sure other cities have fricking hummus, soups and salads. the chef here is from south carolina and went to the college of charleston, you dont think there are good restaurants is charleston?
And as far as nagomi goes, there are japanese restuarants in other cities, hell there is a nagomi in kentucky.

Take this scene you have portrayed of decay and rot and multiply that by almost every small/mid/major city in our nation.
Not good. It’s been said before, but get OUT of the cities.
