I miss Black Mountain.

Asheville was filled with liberal hippie fricks, but the hills and hollers had a wonderful combination of 'necks, hillbillies, right leaning hippies, and plain weirdos.

Go work for NOC or Wildwater for a summer, Boo. They need some diversity.

Yes. Unless you're a fig, then you can do something like zipline tours.

We came over to SC in Sept about 4 years ago when my son finished Basic at fort Jackson. We flew into Charlotte, rented a car and drove to Columbia.
We took some time to go down to Charleston and see the sights. We absolutely loved SC. The people are so friendly, completely different from Utah. My favorite Climate is mountain Streams, Lakes and Pines like Utah, Wyo, Idaho and Montana, but the Climate and vibe of the South is pretty darn cool.
We checked out Sullivan’s Island, hung out in Charleston, saw the sights. Loved Fleet Landing She Crab Soup , Shrimp and Grits and fried Oysters.
We went to Folly Beach, that was awesome really nice vibe, had some Damn good BBQ there.
If I had to pick a place to retire it would be South Carolina along the coast and northern Fl.
