I remember folks on both sides of the aisle talking about the problematic expanding of powers for the Exec. Branch, back when Bush43 was in office.
Then we didn't hear about it under Obama. Even though he said he couldn't do stuff about illegal immigration, then he did exactly what he said he couldn't do. Constitutionally.
So ... now Trump is powerless ?
Seems the Establishment, the Deep State, not the will of the people, is at play here.
